Convert a DVD for your iPod

An article “Convert a DVD for your iPod (with video)” describes howto convert a DVD to iPod video under Windows. I don’t have iPod and what is more I don’t have a DVD player yet! So, for me it’s useless information. But it can be interesting for Leonid who likes watch movies. iPod will help him to do it everywhere πŸ™‚

  1. I have to ask – what is so good about iPods that everyone keeps talking about them non-stop? What can I do with iPod that I can’t do with some other device? Such as a smartphone for example…

    – Listen to mp3s, wavs, midi, and oggs – check.
    – Download music from the web – check (both GPRS and WiFi).
    – Download lyrics from the web – check.
    – Read RSS feeds with enclosures (podcasts) – check.

Why should one spend money on an iPod which can’t do much, when it is possible to get a smartphone or a PDA for roughly the same amount of money, but with a much greater functionality?

  2. Maybe somebody wants to listen music and he doesn’t want to buy a smartphone because he doesn’t need so many features. Smartphones are right for high-tech guys not for ordinary people.
Also, as I know smartphones don’t have 30-60Gb hard drives. In case iPod you get MP3 player, portable hard drive, image browser in one!
The last reason is a fashion :). Many people buy something because it stylish. Apple is always stylish πŸ™‚
