Google Browser Sync

Google announced an useful plugin for Firefox – Browser Sync. The idea is to store all browser information – cookie, passwords, session details, tabs, history etc – on the Google servers and have an access to them from any PC.

I read some negative opinions of some paranoic persons about a total control on private data, bla-bla-bla. In my mind, this plugin is very useful for people who need to work with the same browser environment in different places (for example, at work and home). Thanks you, Google for another good server!.

If somebody worries about his/her privacy don’t store passwords in the browser of don’t use the Browser Sync. Or maybe don’t use Internet at all 😉

  1. Definitely I wouldn’t trust any third party to store my passwords… storing locally in a browser is much safer (provided that you enable master password)

  2. Agree, agree, agree. But it’s good to store open tabs, bookmarks (but Delicious is better ;)) or some others stuff except passwords.
Also, many people don’t have some sensitive browser information. This extention will be useful for them.

  3. this is definetly not something I would use. i mean I do trust google in general but everything has its limits and I wouldn’t entrust my passwords to their servers.
