Armin Van Buuren again on Cyprus!

December 23rd, 2006 No comments

Armin

Yesterday Maria and I were in the club Pavilion in Nicosia where the DJ number TWO – Armin Van Buuren played his live mix. It was really amazing – the club, the sound, the laser performance, the absolutely crazy people around and, of course, Armin’s mix!
Armin came to Cyprus second time this year. The first time was on 2d June.
So, Armin started his mix at 1:45. There was an another DJ who played really boring and annoying music. But Armin … Armin is the best! So, we had a good time!

Amusing application of Nokia770

December 14th, 2006 No comments

Nokia770

Nokia770 is the best Nokia’s product. It might be used in different manner. For example, as a head of Puppybot:

This latest bot that we’ve spotted combines the utility of a Nokia 770 Internet Tablet with the personality (and body) of a robot puppy dog. Apparently you can control its movements by using another tablet, and it’ll even update its facial expressions to reflect whatever it’s doing at that moment. No word on if you can launch Google Talk while it’s in dog mode or if you’d just be too saddened by those digital puppy eyes to carry on a decent conversation. Either way, peep the video on the flip side for the full effect.

Quick Capture with YouTube

December 13th, 2006 No comments

YouTube has introduced a new service on their website called “Quick Capture” which allows the user to record video directly to the YouTube website:

The new service utilizes Adobe’s Flash Player API to connect to the video capture device. Everytime you go to the Quick Capture page, you’ll have to give permission to the Flash Player to access your video capture device and your microphone. Once permission is granted, all you need to do is fill out the information on the left hand side which includes the title, description, tags, video category, and language of the video. Then press record and watch the video get automatically saved to the website. There’s no encoding converion performed on your PC – everything is passed straight onto YouTube.

Smarthome blog

I’d like to introduce a new service in Smarthome blogSmart Search. This search engine is proudly powered with Google Coop and allows to search smarthome relasted hardware and software. Currently there are more than 40 selected (by me, of course) sites. But their number will be increased including your requests. So, do not hesitate to recommend interesting sites about smarthome technologies.
The Russian version of the Smart Search is also available.

New hosting for our photo album

December 1st, 2006 No comments

Since I moved my blog to the new hosting out photo album is inaccessible. Initially I though to use Flickr. It’s the best place for photo sharing IMHO. Moreover, there is a WordPress pluging which allows to integrate your Flickr albums with design of your blog. But the problem with migration to the Flickr is a lack of time to process all my photos again. Because I don’t want to upload small ones (640×480). So, I decided to use Google Picasa to keep my albums as they were before. I think it’s not bad idea. And maybe later I’ll migrate to the Flickr ;)
