April 26th, 2007 2 comments

In PC Magazine’s upcoming May 8th issue they have listed the top 10 most commonly used passwords online:
1. password
2. 123456
3. qwerty
4. abc123
5. letmein
6. monkey
7. myspace1
8. password1
9. blink182
10. (your first name)

Cool, especially the first one :) . I remember that Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Gun used password “password” to login to the super secret computer. So, it was not just a joke :)

Recently I upgraded my WordPress blog up to 2.1.3. Right after that I decided to change its theme. I spent many hours to look at newest WordPress themes. Then I tried to apply some interesting ones to my blog. Finally, I chose this theme. It looks nice, clear and modern. So, I moved all customizations from the previous one and I hope it works correctly.

pop

Here is a new, useful service – popuri.us. It gets information from several places – Alexa and Google; backlink numbers from the likes of Google, Live Search and Yahoo; bookmark numbers from del.icio.us; and subscriber numbers from Bloglines and displays it on one page. Sure this service is a good example of Web 2.0 technology. Have a look it and have fun :)

April 18th, 2007 No comments

After we moved to the new flat I decided to put my computer devices more efficient on the my small desk. I followed by brief guide of Van Mardian and mounted an ADSL modem and WiFi router under my desk. I don’t have so much devices which can be mount such manner but I got some free space on the desk. The next step is to mount power extender there as well.

Thanks to Lifehacker for a good point.

Last week I upgraded all my blogs to WordPress 2.1.3 (this one was 1.5 :) ). It took just ten minutes per blog. I followed by WordPress upgrade guide. There was only a few small problems related with some old plugins. After downloaded and installed new versions of them the problems were resolved.
I’d like to say thanks to WordPress team for the excellent software! Good work, guys!
