People who use Linux as desktop operation system complain that KDE is huge and heavy. But, in my mind, currently KDE is the best desktop environment. This is de facto. So, to involve using KDE more users (especially ordinary Linux users) to use it and make it easier the project SimpleKDE was forked from KDE.
Basically, SimpleKDE will be lightweight desktop environment for UNIX and UNIX based operating systems. Also, the good advantage SimpleKDE is a possibility to have a live CD (it’s very popular now).
The project is currently maintained by Turkix Foundation. Have a look it. It might be interesing.
