12 ways to extend of your Twittering

Twitter Logo

Twitter is a bit strange service. At the first view it’s not useful at all and absolutely chaotic. But it offers amazing functionality for extending and delivering different type of messages. SimpleHelp posted 12 web applications based on twitter which can make your life easier. What you can do with those applications? Get information about some places from MultiMap or about current weather, know how much fuel do you use, send some message to the group of people, setup alarm, track your FedEx, UPS, USPS or DHL package, search for books, DVDs and music on Amazon.com, connect to your Google Calendar, Remember The Milk or eBay account. Really amazing, isn’t it?

BTW, I registered on the Remember The Milk and created a few tasks. Will see if it’s more suitable for me then Toodledo.

Another way to meet your Russian classmates

Leonid blogged a few times about Russian social network Odnoklassniki.ru. Basically, it’s good place to find your classmates from school, college, university or coworkers from the previous places of work. But personally I don’t like the way how it’s done and stability of that service. I found alternative service which is much better and reliable. It’s VKontakte.ru. It looks similar to very popular Facebook and offers a simple way to find classmates, coworkers and friends. It’s allows to upload photos, audio, video, write funny wall-posts, send private messages, create or join to some group. Technically VKontakte.ru satisfies the requirements of web 2.0 and ordinary users should find its interface simple and friendly.

I found a few my classmates from Military Mojaiski Academy, a lot of fun photos (black and white actually). So, I highly recommend to all Russian people check that service.

Google Reader is enough power tool to read and manage your RSS subscriptions on-line. But it also can be improved to provide additional functionality with help you be more productivity with Reader. Library clips gives 15 receipts to pimp up the Google Reader. Those receipts are based on Firefox and Greasemonkey – tool which allows to customize the way a webpage displays using small bits of JavaScript. So, if you’re IE or Opera fan they definitely are not for you. The most interesting IMHO Google Reader + Twitter, Google Reader + del.icio.us, Google Reader’s BlogThis2Me and Integrate Google Reader with Gmail. So, feel free to grub appropriate hack for you!

P. S. I found very annoying POP-up snap-shot adds on the Library clips. I understand that the blog should work for money as well but it’s very difficult to read articles when those dummy POP-ups appear for every link.
