VMware opened virtual machine disk format specification

VMware

VMware, the global leader in virtual infrastructure software for industry-standard systems, today announced that its virtual machine disk format specification for defining and formatting virtual machine environments is now openly available, downloadable and free of charge.

It’s very clever step! API or open specification of some software stimulates developers to create applications based on this software and extented it. I use VMware under Windows to test some interesting Linux distribution. I like this software and I’d like to wish VMware a good luck!
