Samsung 740N
Recently we bought a new monitor. It’s 17” LCD monitor Samsung 740N. I made a comparison between HP L1702, Sony SDM-HS75, IBM ThinkVision L171 and Samsung 740N. As result I chose Samsung because it has very good characteristics:

  • 600:1 contrast ratio
  • 300cd/m2 brightness
  • 160/160 degree viewing angle
  • 8 MS response time

Also, I bought and installed a new hard drive because I’m going to use my current one for Linux. Currently I have one hard drive with Windows XP which is master and another with Windows XP again and Fedora Core 1 (yes, I know it’s too old). I’m waiting for release Fedora Core 5 to upgrade my Linux OS. So, I should find a way to move GRUB (multiboot boot loader) from the second hard drive to the first to have possibility of booting Windows or Linux. I’m not familiar with GRUB. Usually, it was configured during installation. So, I try to find good documentation about moving GRUB boot record. Hope I won’t break working system 🙂
