Skype announced video conferencing
Skype 2.0 (beta) now includes video conferencing. So, people who use Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ or other messenger know have a good reason to move to Skipe. But Skype version with video intergation availabe only for Windows. Hope it’s just temporary 🙂
Yeah, they still can’t properly support ALSA on Linux – and you’re waiting for non-Windows video support? LOL 8)
Also, Skype as the messenger is just terrible so it’s hard to give it as the alternative to ICQ/Yahoo/whatever heavy users.
Think it’s better to talk with people than just typing words 😉 But anyway, in my mind Google Talk will be the leader in the future! They are going to provide a rish functionality with simple interface.

I like Linux. I use it at work and at home 🙂 That’s way I’m waiting for Skipe with video for Linux. But I have to upgrade my internet connection from dialup to something more serious 🙂
I’m also on Linux but it doesn’t make Skype less buggy at all. I’m looking forward for Google Talk development and hope that someday Google will push Skype to some kind of interoperability. But it is also very possible that we’ll never see it and that’s bad 8(
