Madagascar

Madagascar
Last week me and Maria watched latest product of DreamWorks Animation “Madagascar”. After two parts of super animation about green, big and kind orga “Shrek 1” and “Shrek 2”) and nice story about small and funny fish Oscar “Shark Tale” digital magicians produced another funny story about animals from New York zoo. “Madagascar” continues the line of animations which can be interesting for both children and adults and which contains aa big number of gags and parody elements. As in the previos DreamWorks animations, the famous actors recorded sounds there: Ben Stiller (I hate he but in that movie he was perfect!), Chris Rock
(excellent work as usual), David Schwimmer, Sacha Baron Cohen (Julien is my favorite hero. He is brilliant 🙂 ).
My favorite memorable quote from “Madagascar” is that:

Skipper the Penguin (shakes his subordinate): Don’t give me excuses, give me result!

This is a nice, isn’t this?
So, I’d highly recommend to watch “Madagascar”. It doesn’t matter where you’ll do it: in the cinema or at home on DVD you won’t be disappointed!

Skipper the Penguin: [on arriving at Antarctica] This sucks!

Play with HTMLDOC

Last week I spent two days to find why HTMLDOC doesn’t convert HTML page into PDF (we use HTMLDOC in Perl module to make print view of our HTML pages). It was very difficult to catch the problem because it appeared only in one case – HTMLDOC crashed without any errors or warnings. In others the similar cases HTMLDOC worked correctly.
After many experiments I’ve discovered that the problem is in a big table on HTML page. The previous version of HTMLDOC (1.8.23) just displayed warning about the big tables, truncated them and successful generated PDF file. The latest version (1.8.24) given “Segmentation Fault” which was visible only in command line – Apache log was empty!
So, we downgraded HTMLDOC till 1.8.23 and sent to developers a bug report. Hope they will fix that bug soon!

One Radio, One Frequency, One Nation!

energy
After coming from Russia I’ve found a good FM radio in Limassol – “Choice FM” (104.3). There were nice, modern and non Greek music (I like Greek music but not all time). But recently, I’ve discovered another radio station “Radio Energy” (107.6) (I made a couple IVR applications for that radio 🙂 ) with very good music (from rock-n-roll to trance and RNB). Another big advantage of “Energy” is an one frequency in the all cities of Cyprus! It’s really cool because we shouldn’t retune our car radio when we go to Nicosia or Larnaka. Also we will able to hear “Energy” between cities.
So, let’s tune “Energy”!
