The power of a PC in your car

PC car The Karputer brings the power of a Windows XP PC to the car, complete with an integtrated satellite navigation system, WiFi connectivity, and Bluetooth capability. You can control the Karputer via several input methods, including the touchscreen or the wireless mouse and keyboard. In addition, the Karputer is able to run other normal PC tasks such as playing DVDs, MP3s, as well as games. The ICEPAC2 unit is small enough to be installed into any vehicle and uses a 7″ XGA motorised touchscreen LCD screen for its display. It is powered by a 1GHz processor, and will cost anywhere from Â£1,689 for the barebones version to Â£2,000 for the whole works.

Samsung Q1 Upgrade

Samsung is going to release a SSD-enabled version of its Q1 Ultra Mobile PC. This upgraded model features a 32GB NAND flash-based solid state disk, an Intel Celeron M 353 (900-MHz) processor, 512MB of DDR2 memory, 7-inch WVGA TFT-LCD display, embedded DMB tuner, 802.11 a/b/g WLAN, Bluetooth 2.0, stereo speaker (2W x 2), and SRS sound enhancement.

To watch analog TV on your Mac you can use TVMicro. The TVMicro is a USB TV tuner device with a remote control and compatibility with Mac OS X 10.4 and above. Also, TVMicro can record TV straight to your hard drive in VCD (MPEG-1), S-VCD (MPEG-2) or DVD (MPEG-2) quality. The price in Japan is around $100.

Nokia 770 developers promised to include next version of OS some usefull features such IM and VoIP client. Well, they did it in OS 2006. Moreover, existing owners of Nokia 770 can get it as upgrade. It allows to get new features without waste their customizations.

A new features in the OS 2006 edition include:

Free service lets users chat and speak
Interoperates with any Jabber-based chat client
Support standard SIP based VoIP clients for enterprise use ()
Enhanced text typing with full-screen finger keyboard

As benefit for using open source platform, Nokia get from Maemo community about 120 stable applications for the 770, including an instant messaging client based on GAIM. These are all available for download at no charge.
