Volkswagen + Microsoft = Eos

Volkswagen Eos
I don’t like Microsoft products (Linux forever!). But this concept car showed at the CeBIT exhibition in Hanover is a really cool! There is an integrated mini computer with a 650Mhz processor, 20GB hard drive, 7-inch touchscreen, WLAN and external keyboard behind each headrest. It’s gonna be available this year with price about $30000.
Personally, I want to drive Audi A4 or Ford Focus 2 with Linux Fedora 😉

Boyz Stuff Show

Drag Racing Chassis Tuning

I like fast cars, I don’t rush :). Maybe because I don’t have sport car or I’m not racer by nature. Anyway I like watch compietitions of sport cars like wrc or drag racing. It’s really cool. Once I found an article about preparing of car for drag racing – Drag Racing Chassis Tuning. There are many suggestions and mathematical calculations. So, professionals may find there helpful infomation.
Personally, I respect people who organize race in the old airport and closed roads but not on the busy streets!

Hitech Race

A Stanford University team won a crazy prize – $2 million – on Sunday for sending a modified Volkswagen Touareg across 132 miles of rugged desert, guided only by sensors and computers. Twenty-three driverless vehicles were sent into the Mojave Desert but Stanford was the best.
The race of cars which were driven by computers was organized and sponsored by the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, known as DARPA. The next stage is rally “Paris – Dakkar” withour drivers 🙂

Driving A Million Dollars Baby

After five years hard work Bugatti Veyron has released. Now it’s the world’s fastest production car: speeding-up from 0 to 100 km/h – 2.5 sec, top speed ~ 405 km/h, the price – about $800,000! It’s amazing! You can fly on Veyron without wings.
Here you can read an article from Auto Express magazine about test-drive of Bugatti Veyron.

Does Speed Driving Kill?

Regarding Leonid Mamchenkov post and an article in Cyprus Mail by Barry Faulkner. Mostly, I’m agree with Barry. He thinks like very experienced driver and doesn’t write about drivers level on Cypus. Most of them don’t know anything (or some basic thing) about driving except where is an accelerator. They don’t have a control on the road, thay don’t see other cars. And it’s terrible. In Russian drivers do dangerous thing but they mostly contol the situation.
About the speed. It should be comfortable i.e. a driver should see others cars around, think about their possible maneuvers and shouldn’t be strained (but he have to be concentrated!).
Also, the problem is most drivers have rough ideas about rule of the road and they are excessively relaxed! Those facts cause most of accidents on the road.
Another thing the experienced drivers should always think about other unexperienced who drive near :).
And finally about assertion that speed driving kills by itself. In my mind driver’s stupidity kills and … absence of guardian angel :). Take care and good luck on the roads!

Loeb + “Citroen” = Winner of Rally Argentina

“Citroen” driver Sebastien Loeb has won Rally Argentina. Before that he won The Cyprus Rally, Rally of Turkey and Acropolis Rally Greece. His the nearest competitor Petter Solberg from “Subaru” team was only third. Bravo Sebastien, bravo “Citroen” and bravo “Michlen”! The next target is Neste Rally Finland which starts 5th August.
I’ve heard that Sebastien Loeb is going to leave “Citroen”team next season and the first team in his list of pretendents is “Ford”! This is a great news. I like “Ford” and I’d like to wish good luck “Ford” team with Loeb or without him!
